Faisal Hakki is Managing Partner of AB Ventures, the venture capital arm of Jordan’s largest commercial bank. His varied background in business in Amman includes the creation of an online store that marketed cosmetics and beauty products to the Arab world and various roles in financial markets research and early investment in Jordan’s information technology and communications industries. He is a former board member of Oasis 500, a Jordanian seed-stage investment, training, and mentorship program that began in 2010 and is working toward the goal of launching 500 startups. Since July 2017 Hakki has been on the board of the Crown Prince Foundation Fabrication Laboratory, also known as the Fab Lab, named for Jordan’s Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. On fellowship Hakki wants to establish a Launchpad program for Jordanian start-ups to facilitate their access to North American and other international markets. In the U.S., he hopes to harvest best practices in meetings with experts in entrepreneurship and business acceleration.
