OLET is a non-profit organization that provides education and development opportunities for underprivileged children and youth in Tanzania. Previously, Luena was with TGT for 20 years, ensuring steady growth for the charitable Trust whose mission is poverty alleviation through the provision of market-based solutions to farmers and SMEs with micro-credit, training, market strategies, low cost housing to the poor, appropriate technology transfer and acquisition. Luena has successfully managed collaborative/partnership projects with the University of Dar es Salaam, The Tanzania Cotton Board, The Tanzania Forest Institute Community Banks, the World Bank, and UNIDO. For six years she has chaired the Foundation of Civil Societies in Tanzania. She is also a Trustee of Transform Africa a UK Based Charity, a Member of the Bretton Woods International Committee .She is a Senior Fellow of the Johns Hopkins University and the Synergos Institute of New York and recipient of many national and International awards in recognition of her leadership roles and peace working for development and peace.
