David Lavery serves as the Director, Access to Justice for the U.K. Department of Justice since 2011. Along with this position, he is simultaneously a Visiting Professor for the Ulster Business School, University of Ulster in Northern Ireland. Prior to his current positions, Lavery was director of the Northern Ireland Court Service for over ten years (2001 – 2011) and was the principal private secretary to the Office of the First Minister and the deputy First Minister from 1998 – 2001. Lavery’s background in law and social justice has given him the opportunities to continue and expand on his fellowship journeys.
