A career judicial officer for 32 years, now retired, Judge Ang’awa holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, was Secretary to the Commission of Inquiry into the Insurance Industry, Chair of the Rent Restriction Tribunal and a Commissioner with the Advocates Complaints Commission. She has published Procedure to the Law of Succession and The Independence of the Judiciary - A view from Kenya for the American Bar Association. In 2013, Ang’awa attended and spoke at the Emerging Markets held in Oxford and was an invited speaker at the Women In Public Service Program (WPSP) at Bryn Mawr College. A participant in the Aspen Seminar 2014 and in the Eisenhower Fellows Women Leadership Forum 2015. Ang'awa is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIarb), Besides being an Arbitrator she is also a Mediator.
