As CEO of No Desire to Retire, a London-based web site for employers seeking experienced older workers, Natasha Oppenheim sets strategic priorities and works with stakeholders, including the United Kingdom’s Department of Work and Pensions, to promote the idea of people working past traditional retirement age. Oppenheim is an experienced entrepreneur and advisor to early-stage companies. On fellowship she wants to amplify an initiative she calls “Change the Conversation.” With it she hopes to reduce the “old age-ism” and gerontophobia that push older people out of workforce. “I want to change the conversation,” said Oppenheim, so that older workers go from being “shunned” to being “embraced.”
