Nyantha Maw Lin is the co-founder and managing partner of the Burgundy Hills Company Ltd, a young venture focused on investment opportunities in agricultural trading, food production, and logistics in rural Myanmar, a country amid a transition from decades of military rule and isolation. He is also senior adviser for Vriens & Partners Pte Ltd, a Southeast Asia-focused government affairs firm, where he has counseled multinational corporations, business associations, and non-governmental organizations since the country’s re-engagement with the international community in 2012. On fellowship he interviewed farmers, policymakers, academia and industry experts in tech, retail and logistics to gain a deeper understanding of potential solutions to “last mile” challenges for rural value chains in frontier markets. Lin’s ultimate goal is to explore models for development impact through public- and private-sector cooperation and effective policy-making on agriculture in Myanmar.
