Responsible for enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia, Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal is working to educate the world about his country’s business potential. As a result of his team’s work, in 2011 Saudi Arabia was ranked the 10th most competitive economy in the world according to the World Bank’s “Doing Business Report,” up from 67th in 2004. It is now considered one of the top reforming countries worldwide in terms of ease of doing business. Saud used his fellowship to investigate new approaches to sustainable economic growth and diversification, explore innovations in charitable foundation development and impact investing, and enhance his working knowledge of coral reef conservation and rehabilitation.
