A nationally recognized expert on international civic engagement and public service leadership, Alison Young directs academic research, strategy, analysis, operations and programming to position Drexel University as a global leader in the study and practice of collaboration and leadership. Young leads a new fellowship program that combines business education and leadership development to create stronger public sector leaders making a measurable impact on the communities they serve. While on fellowship, she explored the political environments and cultural norms that impede gender equity in the public sector. Young’s goal was to identify policies, role models, and strategies that can give her the tools to create a program that addresses the underrepresentation of women in public sector leadership positions.
