Ameren Missouri is an energy company, headquartered in St. Louis, which generates and delivers electricity to 1.2 million customers as well as delivers natural gas to 130,000 customers. As director of its energy efficiency and renewables department, William Davis wants to use his fellowship to understand how China plans to meet its future energy needs while keeping energy affordable. Currently in the United States, typical solutions for affordable energy rely on subsidies, donations, or simply giving away power to those who cannot afford it. Davis will explore new technologies and the development of 'net-zero energy consumption' packages for installation in homes as an economical approach to increase access to affordable energy.
