An innovative leader with more than 20 years of experience working in the agriculture industry, Elzandi Oosthuizen leads Monsanto’s strategic initiatives for existing and new growth platforms globally. Leveraging insight and experience in regional and international markets, she drives profit and market share growth while evaluating opportunities to maximize ROI through mergers and acquisitions. In her work, Oosthuizen is motivated by a keen desire to alleviate poverty and hunger in countries such as her native South Africa. While on fellowship, Oosthuizen will analyze how the Chinese government, private sector and universities conceptualize future agricultural challenges following the surge in population with dietary changes. She will also examine the role the private sector and universities play in securing and prioritizing funding and resources to ensure success in the future – and the elimination of food insecurity and hunger worldwide.
