EF MOURNS THE PASSING OF WASHINGTON SYCIP

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Washington SyCip, founder of the Asian Institute of Management, SyCip Gorres and Velayo and Company, and former trustee of Eisenhower Fellowships.

During Sycip’s tenure as trustee, the Eisenhower Fellowship Association of the Philippines (EFAP) became known as one of the most productive of the Fellow chapters around the world, renowned not only for its engagement but also for many highly accomplished women and men who made it through the rigorous nomination process to become Eisenhower Fellows of the Philippines.

Earlier this year Washington SyCip was honored for his tireless support of EFAP. Chairman of the Board of Trustees General Colin L. Powell, USA (Retired), acknowledged SyCip for his integrity, creativity and intelligence of leadership. He also noted Sycip’s strong commitment to principles and policy, the international breadth of his vision and the worldwide impact of the standards he had set.

These earnest words on his remarkable dedication and outstanding leadership for EF were shared among Fellows and current trustees. SyCip was a true source of strength and leadership within the Eisenhower Fellowships Global Network, his dedication to EF is irreplaceable and he will be truly missed by Eisenhower Fellowship’s global family.
