International Programs

Annually, between 40 and 50 mid-career leaders from all professional fields around the world are selected as International Eisenhower Fellows to travel to the United States for an intensive six-week fellowship. EF empowers these trailblazers to tackle bigger challenges as they better the world and their own societies. Given the opportunity to be fully immersed during this period of time, Eisenhower Fellows broaden their horizons, expand their professional networks and sharpen their skills, returning home poised to have a greater positive impact locally, regionally and globally.

IT STARTS IN THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE

Each Eisenhower Fellowship begins with several weeks of virtual engagement to prepare for their in-person program. Travel in the U.S. commences with an Opening Seminar in Philadelphia before each Fellow embarks on a highly customized itinerary across the country, typically visiting six to eight cities and engaging in two to three meetings a day with corporate leaders, government officials, nonprofit professionals and other experts in their areas of focus.

In addition to their independent travel, Fellows convene in major cities to meet prominent American leaders who are part of the Eisenhower Fellowships network to engage in substantive discussions and establish new connections. Later, at the end of their travels, Fellows gather again in Philadelphia for their Closing Seminar.

EF requires all Fellows to identify and implement specific projects they will undertake upon completion of travel to ensure concrete, measurable, real-world results, often in collaboration with other Eisenhower Fellows.  After the program concludes, Fellows gain lifetime membership in a distinguished network of over 1900 committed and exceptional leaders across the globe.

Eisenhower Fellowships regularly hosts international programs twice a year, in the spring and fall.  The spring Global Program brings mid-career leaders from approximately two dozen countries to the U.S, for nearly six weeks of intensive professional engagement and exchange.   Every fall, EF selects ascendant international leaders for a thematic program specifically tailored to a geographic region or professional interest. These shared experiences reinforce the program’s focus on fostering collaborations and forging a close network of like-minded leaders in countries facing common challenges.
