Eisenhower Fellowships celebrates America’s birthday
This spring Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) will convene hundreds of influential leaders from around the world to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States with two days of dynamic Annual Meeting events in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the American experiment.
On Wednesday, May 13, our Chairman, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Dr. Robert M. Gates, will present the prestigious Dwight D. Eisenhower Medal for Leadership and Service to celebrated filmmaker Ken Burns at the National Constitution Center for his extraordinary contributions to public understanding of American history, culture and civic life through his epic documentary films on subjects ranging from the American Revolution, the Civil War and the Vietnam War to Baseball, Jazz, the Roosevelts and Benjamin Franklin.
The previous evening, on Tuesday, May 12, Eisenhower Fellow Claire-Marie Le Guay, a world-renowned concert pianist from France, will present an exclusive solo performance at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, honoring the pivotal role of France in the birth of our nation.
