EISENHOWER FELLOWSHIPS SEEKING OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONALS FOR LATIN AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN PROGRAM IN FALL 2019

PHILADELPHIA, November 14, 2018—Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) announced today it is seeking outstanding midcareer professionals from across Latin America and the Caribbean to travel to the United States on a unique six-week fellowship program in fall of 2019.

The Latin America and Caribbean program will be Eisenhower Fellowships’ first targeted initiative aimed exclusively at the Western Hemisphere since 2008. The program will bring 20-25 exceptional leaders ages 32-45 from a variety of professional fields to the U.S. for intensive, individualized fellowships.

The Latin America and Caribbean Fellows will come mainly from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, but qualified candidates can apply for the fellowship from other nations in the hemisphere. Applications are being accepted until February 25, 2019 and Fellows will be selected in the first trimester of 2019.

The Fellows will gather as a cohort in Philadelphia for an opening seminar of orientation activities in October, 2019, before fanning out across the country to each visit 8-10 American cities and meet with scores of experts in their chosen fields.

They will then return to Philadelphia for a closing seminar of events in November before returning to their home countries to carry out concrete projects with a positive impact on their societies.

The Latin America and Caribbean Fellows will join an active network of nearly 1,600 influential leaders from government, business, civil society, science, technology, health, education, the arts and journalism who have undergone the Eisenhower Fellowship since the organization’s founding in 1953.
