“In these essays, Eisenhower Fellows speak from the heart about the personal convictions that drive them. From Brazil to Liberia, Russia to Jordan, South Africa to New Zealand, they invoke universal values with words like compassion, justice, and trust. They share their innermost thoughts about the importance of humility and passion, authenticity and purpose. They explore issues both momentous and common—historic national transitions from dictatorship, the life-transforming experience of overcoming cancer, the joys of doing even the smallest job with excellence. They speak of the promise of disruptive innovation, the existential importance of lifelong education and of the ultimate, eternal power of love.”
