WELCOME SUSAN KOHLER REED

We are delighted to welcome Susan Kohler Reed as EF’s new Director of Programs and Communications, overseeing all International and USA Programs and our strategic communications efforts.

Kohler Reed comes to us from her most recent position Director of Programs for Citizen Diplomacy International in Philadelphia, where she has been responsible for overall management and administration of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the City of Philadelphia’s Sister City Program and all fee-for-service programs.

In 2017 Kohler Reed oversaw 11 Sister City partnerships and more than 60 professional programs and hosted more than 1,300 international visitors. She is responsible for all program and special events planning and management as well as budget development, organizational partnerships and public outreach.

Some of you might remember Kohler Reed from her previous time at Eisenhower Fellowships, where she served in various roles as Director of Special Projects, Director of the USA Program and Director of Public Programs and External Relations during her tenure here from 2002-2009.

Previously Kohler Reed was U.S. Representative at the Caribbean Council for Europe in London and has experience in fundraising, conference planning and media outreach. Fluent in Spanish, German, Portuguese and French, Kohler Reed grew up in Brazil and has a Masters in Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University. She assumes her new role at EF on April 2.
